About Hamilton County Criminal History

Hamilton County criminal records are divided among the sheriff, criminal courts, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Tennessee Department of Correction, and Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. Each office answers a different kind of question. We organize the official portals, contact details, access limits, and request routes so readers can begin with the holder of the original record.

Why We Built This Site

Tennessee permits access to many criminal record sources, yet the sources are not one database. HCSO maintains sheriff reports, jail entries, and its warrant search. The Hamilton County Criminal Court Clerk holds charges, docket events, judgments, and certified case documents. TBI maintains the statewide fingerprint-supported repository and TORIS name-check service. TDOC handles felony custody and supervision records, while TBI also manages the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. We place the official search links, fees, request steps, and office contacts in a usable local context.

What You Will Find Here

  • Local record routes: how Hamilton County court, arrest, warrant, jail, and city records are located and read
  • Official checks: the differences among TORIS name checks, fingerprint channels, and clerk-certified case records
  • Agency details: verified routes to HCSO, the Criminal Court Clerk, TBI, TDOC, and municipal offices
  • Record relief: the Tennessee expungement path and the court where a qualifying request begins

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site, not part of a Tennessee court, sheriff's office, police department, or state agency. Those boundaries mean:

  • Official criminal history checks cannot be run or issued here
  • Certified records and court documents must come from their custodians
  • Expungement petitions and public-record requests cannot be filed on another person's behalf here
  • Specific charges, warrants, and legal rights require advice from a qualified lawyer
  • Agency hours, prices, and contact details should be confirmed before relying on them

An official copy must come from HCSO, the deciding court, TBI, or the other agency that created and maintains the record.

Search Partners

Outside providers power some search boxes. They operate their own services, choose their prices, and control their results. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may generate a referral fee that supports this resource. We do not set the provider's fees, retain its search database, or decide what its response contains.
